We have just returned from 5 glorious peaceful days at Oakhill Leisure, our third visit of the year.We always enjoy walking through the woods with our dog Toby and this time we had the added enjoyment of picking fresh mushrooms for breakfast. Mary is very friendly and is a fount of knowledge about the area. The site is always clean and tidy and a pleasure to visit. We are already looking forward to our next visit in the spring of 2011

First time back to Oakhill for over 10 years, nice and clean, Jill (dep
warden) Hubby n Lovely Charley treated us very well and made the time to speak to us both, made us welcome. Only down side was it was a bank holiday weekend and whole site was full, so the only 2 showers had a long que but then also problems with the power going off & on,on the whole site which then left some red faced people coming out all lathered up (no electricity, no power to showers). Messed up my caravan charging system due to off & on power. Fishing good but only in week day, then the weekend fishermen turned up with all the gear and no idea and bucket loads of bait to go with it, which inturn killed off all the catching of fish including them not catching. think more attention to be made on anglers bait there carrying and putting the lake,in what could be a great lake for ALL fishermen who dont spend loads of money on bait not needed

We have visited Oakhill a few times over the years in our tent.
since changing to a caravan we have found everyone on site so friendly that we have secured a seasonal pitch.
Mary is fantastic with our children, and even makes time whilst 'buggying' around the site making sure ourselves and everyone are happy with everything.
Although i have yet to try my skills on the lake, there are always fishermen/women there every weekend.
the open space on the ajoining field is perfect for kite flying. and the walks through the woodland area have produced endless things for the kids to spot. Highly recommended and always clean.

Just spent a week at Oakhill Leisure, with our son, three grandchildren, two greyhounds and one waif & stray - and all had a lovely time. The site is clean, well looked after (as were we) by the amazing Mary and her magic moppy bucket. We all want to go back soon and next time we want a ride on the buggy!

We had a lovely few days at Oakhill with several members of our extended family (13 in total!). The facilities were all clean at all times and the pitches were well spaced - we were in a caravan and the rest of the group were in tents. There was a lovely play area for the children together with a football area. I agree with previous posting that possibly a new photo on the website may well attract more visitors as it doesn't represent the lovely site, which is so clean and well cared for. We will definately visit again.

We have just returned from a great stay at Oakhill. The site is lovely, clean and well presented. The play area and adjoining field are just perfect for kids. My boys also tried their hands at fishing with great success, the fishing lake is also well maintained and the baliff John and the other fisherman were very friendly and helpful. My only critism would be the website it does not do the site justice at all...

We chose Oakhill Leisure for its proximity to Newark as we were attending an event at the castle. A beautifully kept site where we were allowed to pitch with more than enough space for caravan awning and car......so nice not to be crammed in as you can be on other sites! Toilets and showers were always clean and a huge field for ball games etc right next to caravan field. The play area was also wonderful for younger children and was very well used whilst we were there. A massive bonus for us was the fact we did not have to rush off the pitch by 10 am but could pack up in a more achievable time - leaving by 12 noon. Thanks to all who work hard to keep such a lovely site and if we come to Newark again we will definitely return to your site.

Our first time at this site, and had a lovely weekend, the site was lovely and clean, so were the toilets and showers (although only 2 showers for the whole site). Washing up area was also clean and had a payable washing machine in there too. The site was so quiet even though there were a few children on site, and the playground was lovely (ours were too old for the playground). Every one respected the 11 pm quieten down time, and although in a tent there was no excessive noise any time of the day.
My son and brother in law fished the lake.
Oh I nearly forgot a visiting ice cream van, "brilliant".
I am looking forward to going back to Oakhill and exploring this lovely place more.
Very friendly and helpful warden.
Many thanx See you again soon.

This was our 4th but longest stay at Oakhill Leisure as we like the location and the site. We opted for electric hook up this time but ours wasn't long enough, Roy was really helpful and lent us his extension. We had a fab week, not only on the site but weather too! Every time we have been to this site the sun has shone all the time! Mary and Roy are very helpful and will help as much as they can to make your stay a pleasant one. Mary came round to us nearly every day to see if everything was ok. We find Mary a really helpful person and will do almost anything to help if she can. Although there are only 2 showers, they are always clean and warm.
The tents are always well spaced out and have room for your car. We have never had any complaints about the site or any noise at night.
We have booked to go back again in July and take friends with us.

My wife and i have just returned from 3 days camping at Oakhill, for the first time.
What a lovely relaxing time we had; we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived at the reception.
Mary and Polly and their partners could not do enough to help us and the way they were on the go all the time to make sure all the guests (and their children) were happy and abided by the rules made for a very pleasant stay.
Likewise the caravaners who are long stayers enhanced the whole experiance.
We will be coming back time and time again. Thanks once again to Mary and Polly and of course to yourself.

Yes I know we must have been mad to go away in February - especially when it snowed! We went with friends and had a ball! There should be more sites like this that have few rules and leave you have a good time.
Very cheap (price includes 2 kids) and very friendly!
This visit was a base to spend the weekend around Lincoln, which turned into a snowmen building session - never seen so much snow - all for us!!
A lovely park and football field, and although we never used the facilities, they looked very good.
We had a lovely walk around the fishing lake - which my husband would like to return to with his gear! and woodland walks.
We have already booked again for later in the year.
Thanks for a fab weekend!

We stayed at this site over the RAF Waddington weekend as our normal site was fully booked. We loved this site and we will be using it every time we go to the airshow from now on.
It was very cheap, we paid £7.50 per night for as much room as you wanted. We stayed in a massive field that was the other side from the caravan field. Our 10 year old son loved it as there was so much space to play football, cricket etc. He also liked the football pitch and adventure play ground.
The toilet and shower block is adequate and clean. There are only 2 showers and we did have to wait a couple of times. However they're free and are electric showers so there is no danger of running out of hot water. They are also big enough for the family to shower together.
Fellow campers were very pleasant, our neighbour even jump started our car when we left the electric cool box on in the boot all night!
It was lovely and quiet and an ice cream van came around every evening much to our delight
Highly recommended, we are looking forward to a repeat visit next year.
